What is this new blue circle that has appeared on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram? In the past few days, a blue circle has been seen on these platforms, but many people are unaware of what it means. Actually, this blue circle indicates Meta AI, the smart assistant launched by Meta. This AI assistant can be used for free by users in India, and it has been available for use since yesterday. Meta AI was launched two months ago, but it was only available in a few countries. Now, it has been made available in India as well.

Meta AI is a very advanced AI model that can answer questions, create content, and even translate languages. It can also help with tasks like writing emails and creating content. This AI model is based on the LLaMA 3 model, which is one of the most advanced language models in the world.

The best part about Meta AI is that it can be used directly from the Facebook and Instagram feeds. For example, if you see a post on Facebook and want to know more about it, you can ask Meta AI directly from the post. Additionally, Meta AI has a feature called Imagine, which can create images based on the text you type. This means you can create images in your preferred style and even animate them.

Overall, this blue circle is a big surprise that has taken Facebook and Instagram to a whole new level."

Check out- It is working in India

What’s wrong with Agniveer?

Agniveer is very much in the news these days since NDA partner Nitesh Kumar of JDU raised the issue, and wanted a review or a relook or cancellation of this scheme. Later, Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition, raised this issue in Parliament. Rajnath tried to defend the scheme, saying it was introduced after a lot of discussions and citing similar schemes in the UK, US, and Israel. However, he failed to impress.

One should realize that similar schemes are in vogue in the UK, US, and Israel because very few youngsters volunteer to join the army, so they need such schemes to recruit youngsters in the armed forces. In India, it's the other way round, when recruitment rallies are held even in small towns, lakhs of youngsters come to join. Sometimes a riot like situation occurs, as for a few thousand selections, lakhs come for the selection.

In India, the armed forces are taken as a career, so youngsters, out of choice, prefer to join the armed forces. In some families, generations have served in the armed forces. They are proud of it. The earlier selection process was going on smoothly, the young men were selected, trained, and posted in different areas and terrain to get experience and then sent to hotbeds of real action, which would seamlessly take the place of those who retire from service every year.

Many of the top Army officials are not happy with this Agniveer scheme. They say you will get half-baked soldiers when they know they will have to quit after 4 years. There's a disparity in the financial package without a pension. And what happens after serving the armed forces for 4 years? In fact, they point out how many are actually recruited after completing the short service commission. Many of them are forced to work as security staff and officers. They complain the civilians don’t understand our problems when we give our youth for the country. Some are lucky, and some get killed.

Some retired generals like General Bakshi are also connecting the sudden spurt of terrorist attacks to the Agniveer scheme. Their argument being, every year as the men retire, about 60,000 men are recruited, undergo intensive training, and join the forces to fill those vacancies. But since COVID, the recruitment has been stopped, and a few thousand Agniveers are recruited, undergo brief training, and post. This doesn’t help, effecting the morale. Since the last three years, 1,80,000 men have been short. Since Kashmir was the hot bed of terrorists, a good number of forces were shifted from Jammu to Kashmir, presuming since Jammu was calm with no major terrorist activity, they can reduce the number of forces here.

And with the heavy presence of troops in Kashmir, the terrorists were unable to move freely or attack, so with a lesser presence of forces in Jammu, the terrorists made the remote areas of Jammu their target. The army continues to lose men because the terrorists have an advantage in selecting the area, time, and day of attack, and forces can only react to this attack. With men and officers being killed, it affects the army's morale.

Agniveer is a dampener; this is one of the reasons that the BJP has lost some seats in north India and the cow belt. Some of the politicians in the government too admit, but can’t say so openly. States like Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, UP, Bihar, and others are not happy with it and are demanding a review or cancellation of this scheme. The government's intentions may be good, but a lot more serious thinking and consultation with the top officials of the armed forces is needed. And some retired generals feel the earlier selection was good, as they could get able men from all over India.
