SaffronStays Nirmay is a beautiful bunglow designed with Maratha charm and traditional look. With modern comforts and amenities blend in unique style and layout, and the well appointed three huge bedrooms, library stocked with books, indoor games, a nice garden with colourful flowers and a private swimming pool located in the midst of nature.......
In the early part of the year we had an opportunity
to visit this unique place in the countryside. It was a pleasant stay for a
couple of days and a good and deserving break during the pandemic. SaffronStays
Nirmay located at Village Kodawadi, Taluka Velhe, Torana-Rajgad, about 34 km
from Pune, has a scenic and breathtaking view of the hills in the background,
green vegetation and fields in the front.
It has the traditional Maratha wada-type
look, well furnished, simple and attractive. The place has a well-planned
layout with a creative and professional touch and greenery around, making the
place friendly, inviting and comfortable. Experience the life in the
countryside staying in the comfort of your home.
SaffronStays Nirmay is a beautiful bunglow designed
with Maratha charm and traditional look. With modern comforts and amenities
blend in unique style and layout, and the well appointed three huge bedrooms,
library stocked with books, indoor games, a nice garden with colourful flowers
and a private swimming pool located in the midst of nature. The hills behind
the home and with fields in front, orchard and rural life around make the place
unique with a rural feel, offering you a pleasant experience, and an ideal
place to chill with family and friends.
It has been featured in Vogue and Grazia, Nirmay is
a spacious ground plus one storey bunglow with three big bedrooms with attached
bathrooms. On the ground floor is the hall or lounge, well furnished with
antique ware and flat-screen television to sit and relax. And nearby is the
bar, kitchen and a large well laid out dining table to enjoy your tasty meals
in comfort. And has a private barbeque too to savor and chill out in the
evenings. Have wifi, an open veranda with chairs for relaxing and enjoying panoramic
view of the scenery around and parking area for vehicles.
It is managed by a trained staff of two, male and a
female. Both are smart, polite and efficient. Their cooking, especially the
local woman is impressive and tasty, serving authentic homely vegetarian and
non-vegetarian meals and snacks of your choice. Most of the vegetables are fresh
from their fields. A good stay and good food is the hallmark of this place.
Nearby is the ISKON temple, hence there’s constant
traffic in and out on the approach road. But once you cross this place its
quiet and peaceful. Nirmay also offers a few good options – Go trekking up the
hills behind the home or catch the view of the Bhatghar Dam. If you love fort
trekking, located close by is Torna and Rajgad forts. During the monsoon one
can have a beautiful drive with greenery all around to Madhe ghat and catch the
spectacular view of the waterfall. You can even head over to Gunjwani Dam and
experience boating.
Nirmay is ideally located which is not very far
from other popular holiday spots, Mahableshwar is about 38 km from here and
Lavasa is about 27 km. The nearest airport is Pune around 43 km. I would
recommend this place for families and friends. Staying at least for a couple of
days is essential to enjoy the place and surroundings and get a feel of the
countryside. Be rejuvenated in the true sense!
This is an inspiring story of Svetlana Dorokhina, a pretty young Russian woman who accidently took up painting inspired by her father who left her during the pandemic.......
Svetlana Dorokhina is a self-taught pretty and
talented Russian painter who was inspired to start painting after the sudden
death of her father during the recent pandemic. May be it’s a tribute to her
father and her expression of the feeling of his sudden loss. Her creative
expression through art to overcome the loss is inspiring with her talent being
exhibited through the work of art. The paintings give a peek into her inner mind.
Her father, in a way was an unknown and
unrecognized artist. He worked as a fire-fighter and did painting as a passion
after the divorce from his wife. Maybe he was expressing his anger or sorrow
through the painting? Svetlana feels sad that his thought and creative work was
not seen by the world or his talent recognized.
Svetlana does big and small oil paintings mainly on
nature and scenery. She has a small but good collection of oil paintings
created by her over the years. It’s her way of expressing her feelings for her
dad and keeping alive his memory. This seems to have brought out the best in her through her paintings.
Though she’s a self-taught painter, she claims to
be an ardent student of top and renowned Russian painters like Igor Medvedev, I
Sakharov, N Yurshina, M Mankov and others. She was inspired by their style,
creativity and their artworks. She tries to infuse these ideas in her
paintings. It appears to some extent she has succeeded and influenced her work.
Her collection of paintings is creative, attractive
and profoundly meaningful with a natural feel. The strokes and colour make her
artworks lively. She expects the world to see her creative artworks by buying
her paintings which will encourage her to do better and focus on it to keep the
memory of her dad alive. Hope her paintings will evoke interest among the readers and collectors of art.
If anyone wishes to buy her paintings, may get in
touch with her on:
